Fullufjällets NationalparkFulufjället National Park is one of the youngest national parks in Sweden. The 385 km2 park is located in the northwest of the Dalarna region, on the border with Norway and forms the southernmost spur of the Sami residential area.
The fjäll consists of a sandstone plateau of 9 million years old and is a remote, unspoilt and extremely vulnerable nature reserve with a richly varied moss vegetation. In addition to moose, brown bears and lynxes, there are also eagles and numerous water birds near the many lakes and fens. Waterfall The tourist attraction is the 93 meter high Njupeskär waterfall. The park is suitable for the hardened walker as well as for families with children. You can make multi-day hikes, but you can also walk from hut to hut with a daypack. You can drink from the streams and the big lakes; fishing is allowed almost everywhere. |
Looking for bears and beavers
Catching sight of a bear is not so easy, but there are traces of bears everywhere. They might take the form of claw marks on trees, anthills that have been dug up, an old winter lair or scat full of berries. |

Every season its own beauty
Spring, summer, fall and winter each have their own unique personalities.
Although relatively few people live here, Norra Dalarna has the climate many people falsely associate with all of Sweden. Winters here are long, cold and dry, with sub-zero temperatures lasting several months. From late October, early November to late April, winter falls like a beautiful white blanket over Fulufjallbun. It sometimes freezes to minus 30 degrees but nature is impressively beautiful in winter! Even then a visit to Fulufjallbun is worthwhile. In good weather you can make wonderful trips, possibly with snowshoes or enjoy the overwhelming nature on a snowscooter and then warm up by the stove in your stuga! |
During fall, the mountains explode in a palette of colours and treasures in the form of berries and mushrooms are ripe for gathering and picking. Magic landscapes, especially at dusk.
Summers may be short, but temperatures are often a comfortable 15 degrees, with occasional peaks of up to 30 degrees, which is perfect for lakeswimming or sunbathing. |
LAGOM ÄR BÄST
Swedish lagom is all about "just enough". Because why do you need more than enough or why do you do with less when it can be enough.
This way of life makes you aware of the world around you. Sustainable living and enjoying nature are important pillars, but also, for example, cleaning up, not carrying excess ballast in your life. Actually, it can apply to anything, as long as it has the right balance. Not too much, not to little... |
